Learn How to Start Seeds

Looking forward to some ripe tomatoes fresh from the garden this summer? Now’s the time to get those seeds started so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. Yeagers Hardware has everything you need. Pick up a package of seeds, seed starter pots and a seed starter potting mix. If you’re worried about overwatering your plants, you can find a soil moisture meter so you can make sure you don’t drown them. For more on how to get your seeds to grow, watch Trish from our Van Buren store here.

Once you get your seeds planted, you’ll want to keep them in your home or garage where they can get a head start without freezing. They’ll develop a root system and produce a few leaves. Once the last chance of frost has passed (usually around mid-April in the River Valley), you can transplant your tomato plants outside and watch them grow!
